Roof Replacement Cost Calculator

This roof replacement cost calculator turns your roof size in square feet into an estimated re-roof price in seconds. It multiplies the size by $8.50 per square foot, the estimated re-roof rate used by Infinity Roofers Inc., a licensed California roofing contractor (License #1134192) with locations in Simi Valley, Canoga Park and Pasadena.

sq ft

A rough number is fine. Your exact price is based on the roof we measure on site.

How the roof cost calculator works

The math is simple: roof size in square feet × $8.50 per square foot = your estimated re-roof price. A 2,000 sq ft roof comes to about $17,000, and a 1,500 sq ft roof to about $12,750.

Enter the size of the roof itself, not the floor area of the house. A pitched roof with overhangs has more surface than the floor area under it, so two homes with the same floor area can have very different roof sizes. If you only know your home’s square footage, use it for a first number: we measure the actual roof to set your exact price.

Once you see your price, try other sizes as often as you like. The price updates as you type or move the slider, and on the same device you do not have to enter your details again.

What does a re-roof cost per square foot?

At Infinity Roofers, a re-roof is estimated at $8.50 per square foot of roof. That is the rate this calculator uses, and it is an estimate, not a quote.

Square feet here means the roof surface. Roofers also count in “squares”: one square is 100 square feet of roof, so $8.50 per square foot works out to $850 per square. Your final price per square foot depends on the pitch, the material, the tear-off and the decking of your roof, which is why your exact price follows an inspection.

What can move your final price

The calculator gives one estimated number for a re-roof. Your exact price comes from the roof we inspect and measure, and these are the things that move it:

  • Pitch and access. A steep roof, a second story or a tight side yard takes more time and more safety setup.
  • Material. We work with asphalt shingles, tile roofing, metal roofing, and flat roofs tailored to your needs, and each system is priced on its own.
  • Tear-off and decking. How many old layers come off, and how many deck boards under them need replacing.
  • Code rules for your address. Fire rating, cool-roof rules and the permit for your city.

Questions about the roof cost calculator

Is the calculator price a quote?

No. It is an estimate at $8.50 per square foot. Your exact price is set after we inspect and measure the roof.

Should I enter my home's square footage or my roof's?

The roof’s, if you know it. The roof is measured on its sloped surface, which is usually larger than the floor area under it. Your home’s square footage works for a first number, and we measure the actual roof for your exact price.

Is the price different for tile, metal or flat roofs?

The calculator applies the one $8.50 rate to every roof size you enter. Material changes the final price, so your exact price depends on the system you choose: asphalt shingles, tile, metal or a flat roof.
